10.2.10 Mahrukh and Zain – Married at The Shadowbrook NJ

Monday, October 18th, 2010

After a full week of on and off rain, thunderstorms and unusually chilly weather, the big day finally came. Mahrukh and Zain’s wedding day was here, and it was absolutely perfect! You could not ask for a better day.

We started bright and early meeting the bride to be at her hotel for hair and make-up. Malti Sompura was on site doing an amazing job air brushing make-up that looks wonderful on camera. We have worked with her previously at Dipali and Jay’s Mehndi event, and as you can see, the results are really good.

After the bride was all set, we made our way to The Shadowbrook for a quick portrait session prior to the ceremony. The Shadowbrook is very well kept and there were plenty of great spots for photos, even with another wedding going on. The ceremony itself was beautiful, and the reception that followed brought everyone back in to party mode. We feel so great to have had the privilege of working with Mahrukh and Zain, and hope our photos provide their families with  memories that will last forever.

One thing is for sure, we have never seen a shoe theft and negotiations like this at any other wedding! Mahrukh’s sisters and cousins really play hard ball!

Sheena and Ankush Indian Wedding Photography

Friday, June 4th, 2010

What happens when you have a bride in Texas, groom in California and the families over in NJ? Simple, just plan your wedding from across the country and fly in for the party….easy right?

Sheena and Ankush decided to get married with friends and family at the beautiful waterfront Hyatt in Jersey City. They brought in wedding planner Jyoti Soni to help with making all the arrangements, and to keep the wedding moving along smoothly. Sheena started the day around 10:00am getting her hair and make-up done by the talented Rita Sutar.

Ankush arrived with his family on horse along side 2 dholi drummers. They rocked the waterfront area dancing and singing all the way to the outdoor ceremony. It was terribly windy, and the original mandap was not going to stay put, so the guys at Mandap Design quickly revised their original plans to better suit the conditions. After the ceremony, Sheena and Ankush finally could releax and begin to enjoy married life. Their Indian wedding was a lot of fun to photograph. Here are some of the highlights from their wedding:

07.25.09 – Payal and Kunal’s Wedding Extravaganza

Friday, July 31st, 2009

We had all our equipment locked and loaded for the final day of Payal and Kunal’s phenominal three day wedding. We started at 8AM for some preparation shots—a MUST HAVE for any girl getting married. Payal was up super early getting ready while Kunal was watching cartoons television in his room on the other end of the corridor. Men have it so easy. The outside space of the Sheraton Mahawh provided a well manicured landscape to get some amazing shots during the wedding. It was a hot and sticky July afternoon with the sun blaring down. Luckily, the staff of Sheraton provided stations of icy cold water at two ends of the mandap area. It gets really tough shooting Indian wedding photography for 16 hours straight! Regardless of the afternoon sun, we still managed to get some great shots of the bride/groom and their wedding. These two are real troopers, under their heavy outfits they sat still and in the heat, and maintained a pleasant outlook throughout the ceremeony. I guess love would do that to you…
