Neetu & Preet Part II : Reception at the Hyatt Regency Long Island

Wednesday, November 30th, 2011

East meets West (as in NYC and LA) at this one of a kind reception at the Hyatt Regency in Long Island New York. Neetu and Preet put together an amazing event with the help of  The Design House . Special thanks goes out to Hasina from The Design House who kept this massive event streamlined and seamless. Without their help it this 500+ guest event would have been far to much to handle! All the little details really made this event unique – we loved the tables were given names of areas in LA and NY rather than numbers! Very cool. The decor, centerpieces and stage all complimented Neetu’s outfit, without making it look too monotone. Preet did an amazing job with the engagement and weddings rings, I had to put up 2 photos. Check out the pics below!

We had our photo booth out at this event and wow the guests really went crazy inside! The largest group was more than 15 people! If you have the password, check out the photo booth pics.

Neetu and Preet Sangeet in Long Island, New York

Saturday, July 30th, 2011

From coast to coast this couple celebrated their multi day wedding over the course of about 6 weeks! Here is Part 1 of their wonderful series of events, the Sangeet.

Guests at Neetu and Preet’s Sangeet enjoyed the ambiance at Hilton in Long Island. During cocktail hour we were able to whisk the couple away for some private time. It is so hard getting couples to relax we figure the best way to get some great portraits is isolating them from their hundreds of guests. When away from the eyes of friends and family, they were so much more relaxed and it shows in the photos!

Dance performances from both families entertained the guests, as well as a live dholi who got everyone involved in the fun. The guests loved to dance and sing, the floor was packed all night.

09.19.10 Parneet and Nina’s Engagement – Indian Engagement Photographer NY

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010

“Let’s just have a small get together.”

These are the famous last words spoken by many Indian and South Asian couples when they start planning some sort of event. As soon as the parents get involved, the list of 45 guests suddenly increases to a little over 150. It happens far too often.

Same goes the story of Parneet and Nina. These two had their beautiful engagement ceremony at the Villa Borghese in upstate New York. I am sure they would have had a great time with a smaller event at home, but this party was well worth it. Once the music started the guests were drawn to the dance floor, and that is where they stayed all night! The DJ kept the party going pumping out the latest Punjabi tracks and mixing in some of the classics. Our pal Lucky from Candle Light Studios served as the videographer, and we chased the couple around for hours while the guests danced nonstop through the end of the night.

There are a few joys a parent will have, all of them involve the happiness of their children. Sometimes it is frustrating when parents take over the event, and invite their college friends wife’s sister’s cousin’s uncle to your event, – just step back, relax and let them enjoy as they celebrate your joy.

08.28.10 Joyce and Robin’s Reception | New York Indian Wedding Photographer

Sunday, September 12th, 2010

Just hours after an emotional wedding ceremony, Joyce and Robin made their way over the to The Vanderbilt at South Beach for their reception. The night was perfect, and the breeze by the beach allowed everyone to stay cool while all dressed up. The service at the Vanderbilt was great, all of the guests were warmly welcomed into the venue, the food and drinks were served constantly during the cocktail hour. While the guests enjoyed the cocktail hour, Joyce and Robin were getting ready upstairs in the bridal suite for their grand entry. The speeches were hilarious, music was amazing, and we haven’t quite lost the weight from their excellent food just yet.  Joyce and Robin were a pleasure to work with, and one can only hope future clients would be so cool and easy to service.

08.28.10 Joyce and Robin’s Wedding | Indian Orthodox Wedding Photography

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

It was just about a year ago when I met Joyce and Robin for the first time. They are a photographer’s favorite type of client, booking just about 1 year in advance and having most of their details planned out. Now, we have done our share of South Asian weddings, but never have we photographed a ceremony where the couple followed the Orthodox Christian religion. Joyce was kind enough to break down all the specifics on the religious and cultural sides of the wedding, and even shared some photos from her relative’s weddings. After doing some research on our own, we felt confident that we can provide a quality service that will cover all their needs.

The lovely couple and their party of 12 started the day with a photo shoot at the Chinese Botanical Garden located within Snug Harbor in Staten Island, New York. You could not ask for a better day, the sun was shining and there was no humidity. All of the bridesmaids and groomsmen were so easy to work with! They were a lot of fun, and often we’d have a hard time not laughing at all of their silly jokes and antics.

After the shoot our photography teams separated, and went Robin and Joyce’s home to photograph the prayer ceremony (and to inhale lunch). Immediately following, we all met up at Greek Orthodox Church for the wedding. This was quite an experience for our team. Check out the lovely photos of this Greek Orthodox Indian Wedding in New York.
