10.2.10 Mahrukh and Zain – Married at The Shadowbrook NJ

Monday, October 18th, 2010

After a full week of on and off rain, thunderstorms and unusually chilly weather, the big day finally came. Mahrukh and Zain’s wedding day was here, and it was absolutely perfect! You could not ask for a better day.

We started bright and early meeting the bride to be at her hotel for hair and make-up. Malti Sompura was on site doing an amazing job air brushing make-up that looks wonderful on camera. We have worked with her previously at Dipali and Jay’s Mehndi event, and as you can see, the results are really good.

After the bride was all set, we made our way to The Shadowbrook for a quick portrait session prior to the ceremony. The Shadowbrook is very well kept and there were plenty of great spots for photos, even with another wedding going on. The ceremony itself was beautiful, and the reception that followed brought everyone back in to party mode. We feel so great to have had the privilege of working with Mahrukh and Zain, and hope our photos provide their families with  memories that will last forever.

One thing is for sure, we have never seen a shoe theft and negotiations like this at any other wedding! Mahrukh’s sisters and cousins really play hard ball!

07.26.09 – Priti and Biren’s Wedding Addison Park Indian Wedding Photography

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

The weekend isn’t over yet! After an over the top 3 day celebration for Payal & Kunal’s wedding, we still have one more wedding before the weekend is over! Priti and Biren selected one of the nicest venues in Nj for their wedding. The Addison Park hosted their wedding and reception. With a fear of rain the couple decided to hold their wedding indoors. We were hired to cover just the details, and another team imported from overseas was in charge of the formals. Indian wedding photography sometimes requires more than 1 shooter. When we photograph Indian weddings we always go as a team. This allowed us to get creative and capture all the little things the main photography team was not able to grab. It also allowed us to frame and compose without worry of time, and those annoying lists of shots that “have to be taken.” Priti & Biren had an emotional wedding, you can see their feelings in their faces. After the wedding the couple got dressed for the reception as the team downstairs was redecorating the hall for the evening. With the DJ pointing the monogrammed spotlight on the dance floor, the party officially began. Check out our pics!

07.24.09 – Payal and Kunal’s Garba Night

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

The day two of their three day wedding, the grounds were shaking and the night was full of energy with the live music and every one dancing at the Sheraton in Mahwa, NJ. But before all the craziness started, the couple saved a little time allowing us to have an on site studio lighting setup to get amazing formal shots. Indian wedding photography is a broad term and we are hoping we can break the stereotype of poorly lit, awkward posed photos fixed with crazy special effects with something more clean and modern.

07.23.09 – Payal and Kunal’s Mehndi Night

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

It was a cool rainy Thursday night at the Royal Palace, White Plains, NY where Payal and Kunal kicked off their amazing three day wedding event. You may remember this couple from their Engagement Party in April. They had an intimate mehndi night where family and friends got together for some good company, food, music and the girls got their mehndi done. Indian wedding photography sometimes spans multiple days, and this couple’s wedding is a great example of all the memories that can be captured and share forever. This is just the beginning of their awesome wedding weekend. The couple had great chemistry with each other and with us. They are so photogenic and were always ready to take a shot!
