08.28.09 Richa and Nikhil’s Sangeet

August 30th, 2009

I love it when clients show off our photos to their friends. I love it more when their friends book us for an event! On Friday, August 28th, we shot the Sangeet for Richa and Nikhil in Poughkeepsie, New York. Richa was a bridesmaid to Payal, who’s wedding we had the pleasure of shooting back in July. Richa and Nikhil had their venue decorated with really fun centerpieces that included awesome peacock feathers. Bangles were offered on a tray for all the pretty ladies that attended. Both families were really fun to shoot! The night was full of great food, fun dance performances and all the pre-wedding emotions you can expect the night before the big day! Although we did not have the honor or providing Richa and Nikhil with our Indian wedding photography services, we are sure they looked amazing on their wedding day!

08.15.09 – Shihab and Vania’s Wedding

August 19th, 2009

Just a few weeks ago we did a quick e-shoot with Vania & Shihab, usually most couples are really stressed out and anxious about their wedding. That was not the case with these two, they were both cool, collected and calm. These two are a photographer’s dream. No bridezilla, no crazy relatives and no mishaps!

Ronak and I started the morning by splitting up our equipment and heading over to each of the B&G’s homes. I went to see Vania and Ronak went to Shihab’s home. I got to take some intimate shots of Vania and her family and bridesmaids as she got ready for her big day. Ronak got some great shots of Shihab and his parents and groomsmen get ready. Guys got it easy, we can just throw on a shirt, belt some shoes and we are good to go! This was far from our usual Indian wedding photography, but a pleasure to shoot.

Their wedding was held at the Highlawn Pavilion in West Orange New Jersey. This venue is amazing! It is located on the Eagle Rock Reservation and overseas neighboring towns and has a great view of New York City. The venue is perfect for a wedding with very European inspired design, romance was definitely in the air.

The wedding itself was held outdoors under the big blue sky. The well manicured lawn allowed for some really great formal shots, as well as some more modern style photos. After the wedding we all went inside to start the party! The reception was one like none other. Ice sculptures, missing vodka slides (don’t ask), Bollywood style dance performances and a bit of corridinho made the night one to remember forever. Enough with chatter, on to the pics!

07.25.09 – Payal and Kunal’s Reception

August 1st, 2009

The sun was just setting and the party was about to start in celebration of Payal and Kunal’s wedding at the Sheraton in Mahwah,NJ. Before they went inside to party in the Grand Ball Room, the couple allowed us a little time to take some great formal shots in their reception outfit outdoors. The cocktail hour was stocked with a premium open bar, which remained open all night long. Dj Sharad was brought in to provide music, lighting, and huge LCD flat screens that over looked the guests who wined, dined, and partied like no body’s business!! Anoli and her team from ShaadiStory.com documented the event from begining to end. The party went into overtime when the venue opened up another room for after party, and then the after after party. Indian wedding photography is a breeze when working with such a cool couple. Take a look at our pics!

07.25.09 – Payal and Kunal’s Wedding Extravaganza

July 31st, 2009

We had all our equipment locked and loaded for the final day of Payal and Kunal’s phenominal three day wedding. We started at 8AM for some preparation shots—a MUST HAVE for any girl getting married. Payal was up super early getting ready while Kunal was watching cartoons television in his room on the other end of the corridor. Men have it so easy. The outside space of the Sheraton Mahawh provided a well manicured landscape to get some amazing shots during the wedding. It was a hot and sticky July afternoon with the sun blaring down. Luckily, the staff of Sheraton provided stations of icy cold water at two ends of the mandap area. It gets really tough shooting Indian wedding photography for 16 hours straight! Regardless of the afternoon sun, we still managed to get some great shots of the bride/groom and their wedding. These two are real troopers, under their heavy outfits they sat still and in the heat, and maintained a pleasant outlook throughout the ceremeony. I guess love would do that to you…

07.26.09 – Priti and Biren’s Wedding Addison Park Indian Wedding Photography

July 30th, 2009

The weekend isn’t over yet! After an over the top 3 day celebration for Payal & Kunal’s wedding, we still have one more wedding before the weekend is over! Priti and Biren selected one of the nicest venues in Nj for their wedding. The Addison Park hosted their wedding and reception. With a fear of rain the couple decided to hold their wedding indoors. We were hired to cover just the details, and another team imported from overseas was in charge of the formals. Indian wedding photography sometimes requires more than 1 shooter. When we photograph Indian weddings we always go as a team. This allowed us to get creative and capture all the little things the main photography team was not able to grab. It also allowed us to frame and compose without worry of time, and those annoying lists of shots that “have to be taken.” Priti & Biren had an emotional wedding, you can see their feelings in their faces. After the wedding the couple got dressed for the reception as the team downstairs was redecorating the hall for the evening. With the DJ pointing the monogrammed spotlight on the dance floor, the party officially began. Check out our pics!
