Frequently Asked Questions - Wedding Our style is a blend of modern and traditional photography. We tend to shoot with a photojournalistic mind set, photographing your event while being out of the sight of your guests. Ninja mode, as we jokingly call it, we try our best to be photograph and document your wedding as it naturally occurs, and capture the real emotions rather than just the posed ones. Of course, we do photograph some traditional posed images as well. Family photos, large group shots and formal wedding photos of just the couple are not forgetten about. We make sure we have a very strong mix of the two styles so we can create a timeless wedding story. Having 2 professional photographers at your wedding is highly recommended. In fact, all of our packages include 2 photographers. We insist on shooting as a team so we can spread out and get ample coverage. We shoot to document your wedding and create a story. Without a second shooter, we would only be able to get the groom arriving on horse during his baraat, and not the bride peeking out the window from the bridal suite. Indian weddings generally have multiple things going on at once, and often times they are in different locations! That is where having 2 photographers is key. Also, Ronak and I have a unique dynamic. Being a husband and wife team we are capable of communicating to one another on a different level. We are also wired up by radio and can direct one another “quick, behind you the father of the bride has a tear in his eye!”. One can shoot group photos while the other photographs the details of your wedding. I shoot for composition and techinically pleasing photos, whereas Ronak shoots for more emotional photos. This is where the value of 2 photographers really shines, you will get a fusion of images from a journalistic and traditional styles. This question comes up a lot! It seems like many studios out there present their work, but then on the actual day of the wedding some random guy that you never met shows up to photograph the event. No, we don’t do that. Nothing is outsourced. If you come in, check out our work, our personalities click, and hire us for your wedding – you get us and not somebody else. Yes, we are insured. If your venue requires a COI (Certificate of Insurance) just let us know and our insurer will prepare the documentation that will allow us to provide our services within the venue. Liability insurance is very important and it protects us, and our clients. No, the high resolution images we deliver to our clients that select a package including a disc will not have any watermark logo on the photos. Your photos will be in high resolution which is great for printing. We do not recommend using the high resolution images on the web, rather use the low resolution photos for sharing on Facebook, Myspace, Twitter or in e-mails. Low resolution images (web sized) can be provided to you at no extra charge. We are electronic geeks and have more than adequate amount of backup equipment. If something were to go wrong, we can pull out another camera, flash, full range of lenses, batteries, memory cards, umbrellas and the like. Each photographer will generally have 2 cameras each, one main and one backup, along with a variety of lenses and “just in case” goodies. We use all professional grade equipment. Our camera brand of choice is Nikon, lighting by Alien Bees and lenses and accessories cover a range of manufacturers. Every wedding is different, but on an average South Asian wedding (12-16 hours or so), with two photographers we tend to about 2,500 images total. Now that is a lot of photos! Keep in mind we shoot very quickly, and often shoot in bursts. A burst is a series of images taken simultaneously. For example, a group photo of 12 guests may be taken in a burst of 3 photos. With a large group, it is not unlikely that a person may have blinked. We choose the best image and discard the remainders. This dramatically cuts down the number of images delivered. When we deliver photos on a disc to our client, you can expect anywhere from 750 to 1,200 retouched photos give or take depending on the length of your event, and number of guests. It is very rare that we take on projects without meeting the bride and groom before hand. We try our best to get to know our clients with at minimum one face to face meeting, and a few conference calls between our team and the bride and groom. Many times prior to actually photographing the wedding, we try to spend time with our clients and develop our connection with them. It may be going to a dinner, or meeting at a lounge to hang out for a bit…as long as we don’t talk about photography! This is how we get to know our clients. Your wedding is one of the most emotional days of your life, and having some stranger in front of you from morning to night with a huge camera doesn’t make it any easier. We like to develop a bond with our couples so that we both are comfortable around one another, allowing us to capture the emotional moments as they naturally occur. We get this question a lot. Photoshop is a great tool to tweak and enhance photos that need a bit of work. The software, Adobe Photoshop, has become be a household term meaning “to edit photos”. We do develop our files and clean them up using Adobe Lightroom, if additional editing needs to be done then we bring the image into Adobe Photoshop for tweaking. We do not provide any video services at the moment. Kindly refer to our Friends pages for some of our local vendor buddies that provide videography services. We are available to travel anywhere in the US and abroad. If you plan on having your wedding in another country, please allow us enough time to preprae our documentation so we have the capability of providing our services within that specific country In these days of instant gratification and super quick turn arounds, we try our best to send our couples their photos as soon as possible. Usually, we have a teaser of the wedding up within 2 weeks. You can expect 6 to 10 photos and a blog post pretty quick, followed by your proofs on our proof site usually within 1 month. Albums really depend on the client. While most couples insist they will approve their albums and will be on time with edits, the reality is we are generally waiting months to hear back from our couples! Once they get married life starts to move really fast, and time is just not as available as it once was. Our albums are hand made in Italy, adding the production and design time to the amount of time most couples take to review, request changes, and approve their albums we can estimate anywhere between 3 and 6 months to delivery. Design generally takes about 2 weeks.
