Equipment:

People are always asking about our equipment. Whether it be other vendors, amateurs, hobbyists or just an interested Uncle, everyone wants to know – Nikon or Canon!

We shoot weddings with Nikon bodies. Currently we are shooting with a pair of D700 bodies, a pair of D80 bodies and a back up D70. Just about any wedding we go to we will bring all 5 cameras. It is always important to have backup equipment! You never know what can happen! As far as flashes, after trying the SB-800, and hearing the horror stories about the SB-900, we stick to a bunch of SB-600s. Generally we do not need much flash, and if we absolutely must have some real flash power, we will bring in the Alienbees. For power on the go we swear by the Vagabond II. If we want to try something fun, we bring out the ABR800 Ring Flash by Alienbees.

Now for modifiers, it depends on what we are shooting. Sometimes you will see us with boxes, other times with umbrellas. For the sake of space, light spread and quick set up, we prefer umbrellas on the go and boxes in studio. On the hotshoe flashes we carry stofen diffusers, Gary Fong’s light dome (stop laughing!) and a few bounce cards.

We are wireless, using Alienbees cybersync transmitters and receivers. These little guys are great and rarely ever miss.

To all the folks that ask us about equipment while we are on a shoot, please do not find us rude if we are not able to answer all of your questions while we are working. If you want some more details, just contact us!
