08.28.10 Joyce and Robin’s Wedding | Indian Orthodox Wedding Photography

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

It was just about a year ago when I met Joyce and Robin for the first time. They are a photographer’s favorite type of client, booking just about 1 year in advance and having most of their details planned out. Now, we have done our share of South Asian weddings, but never have we photographed a ceremony where the couple followed the Orthodox Christian religion. Joyce was kind enough to break down all the specifics on the religious and cultural sides of the wedding, and even shared some photos from her relative’s weddings. After doing some research on our own, we felt confident that we can provide a quality service that will cover all their needs.

The lovely couple and their party of 12 started the day with a photo shoot at the Chinese Botanical Garden located within Snug Harbor in Staten Island, New York. You could not ask for a better day, the sun was shining and there was no humidity. All of the bridesmaids and groomsmen were so easy to work with! They were a lot of fun, and often we’d have a hard time not laughing at all of their silly jokes and antics.

After the shoot our photography teams separated, and went Robin and Joyce’s home to photograph the prayer ceremony (and to inhale lunch). Immediately following, we all met up at Greek Orthodox Church for the wedding. This was quite an experience for our team. Check out the lovely photos of this Greek Orthodox Indian Wedding in New York.

08.21.10 Nisha and Ryan’s Engagement | Event Photography

Friday, August 27th, 2010

Relax, it’s a party. That was the atmostphere over the weekend at Nisha and Ryan’s Engagement. Super laid back, good music, good food and an open bar. Nisha and Ryan got engaged at the Chutney Mary in NJ. The boys over at Distinctive Sounds provided music for the event, super big shout out to Dj Pulse for always doing a great job. Dj Pulse was also the DJ at H. Dhami’s live performance at LQ, as well as Nirali and Niket’s Sangeet.

Now back to the couple, these two really got some verbal torment when Nisha’s Dad grabbed the microphone.

“Nisha and Ryan have gotten really close over the past few years, after Nisha had moved I found out that they have both relocated to the same area in New Jersey, it was actually the same city, later I found that they were on the same area, how nice, then I found that they were on the same street, then in the same building, and now on the same floor, I will stop it at that and just say that these two are really close.”

Pwnd. Nice one, Pops. I am sure he will bring his A game to the wedding for his speech.

When the music started everyone hit the dance floor. We had set up an area for group shots, and between the dancing and partying, friends and family eventually made their way over to get some photos taken. We had a great time photographing this couple, and are looking forward to offering our services for their wedding next year. Congrats Nisha and Ryan!

07.24.10 Nirali and Ambrish Reception| Indian Wedding Photographer

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

After a very loud and crazy baraat ceremony, emotional wedding, and very yummy lunch (yes, photographers eat too!) it was finally time to pump up the music and hit the dance floor. Nirali and Ambrish changed outfits and came back to Rasoi III for a night they will never forget. As the evening progressed, the sky started to darken and the sun setting allowed Rasoi to be illuminated with a warm, golden light. The bar was officially open and the party began. DJ Prophecy from SAX Entertainment provided music entertainment that kept the crowd partying until the very last minute. A good DJ is very important to any wedding, without good music, you won’t have fun. I love photographing a fun loving crowd, and Kevin Bhatt made sure the guests were having a great time. Enough with the chatter, here are some images from Nirali and Ambrish’s Indian wedding reception:

07.24.10 Nirali and Ambrish Wedding | Indian Wedding Photography New Jersey

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

Isn’t it great when a friend gets married? Last week our good friend Ambrish took the plunge and marriend Nirali at the recently opened Rasoi III in Monmouth Junction, New Jersey. We have been her a few times in the past, it looks like we will be here a lot next year.

Nirali started her morning getting hair and make up done with her friends and family. It really doesn’t hit you until you start putting on your wedding attire that the big day is actually here, and in just a few hours you will be married! The Baraat Ceremony started bright and early, and even at 9:00am, Indian people are ready to party. Their wedding was held inside the main hall. Enjoy these Indian wedding photos.
